By buying locally, we can purchase and deliver products on an as-needed basis. This not only helps to sustain the local economy, but also greatly reduces waste. • All AVI Fresh capital investments for new equipment will be energy efficient
• AVI Fresh will invest in chilled drinking fountains for all campus dining locations and provide paper cups made from recycled materials at no cost to our customers.
• AVI Fresh will incorporate local and organic products into its menu planning whenever possible.
• AVI Fresh will enact a "tray less" food service program and promote minimal supply product usage in all dining operations.
• AVI Fresh will support and promote all Hunter College campus recycling efforts.
• AVI Fresh will develop a proactive website and communication system to significantly reduce printed paper in its campus communications and information systems.
• AVI Fresh will actively participate in the Hunter College Sustainability Council, attending meetings and updating the Council on its initiatives, activities and measurable results in supporting all sustainability and green initiatives at Hunter College.
